I am a Korean-American Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who loves working with families, children, adolescents, couples, adults, and older adults. I have worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, community mental health centers, in-home therapy, nursing care, and school settings. I offer bilingual and a wide range of culturally appropriate services. I work collaboratively with my clients to create new solutions and stories for their lives. I have experience working with people dealing with anxiety, depression, relational conflict, adoption issues, grief/loss, and identity concerns. I have a special interest and experience with infant/perinatal loss.

Psychology Intern – Supportive psychotherapy and psychometric assessments provided for predominantly male, geriatric veterans in both nursing care and Domiciliary long-term residential settings. Co-facilitated two groups: Talk with Rick and Long Timers, managed caseload of 10-15 clients, presented two psychological seminars for all staff, member of Unit 3S Care Team, and assisted in program development for the Persistently Mental Health population in Domiciliary.

Nextsteps Health Coach – Responsible for facilitating lifestyle behavior change with participants via telephonic counseling at a health promotion call center. Utilized Motivational Interviewing to determine readiness for change for topics such as blood pressure, physical activity, smoking, stress, and weight loss. Assisted with training new hires on Motivational Interviewing.

Family Youth Skills Worker – provided counseling to adolescents in an alternative high school and their families for issues related to truancy and family conflict. Collaborated with Hennepin County to provide services to juveniles involved in truancy. Co-facilitated three groups: parent group, girls group at group home, Friendship Group at Four Winds Elementary School.
